Below is a list of the college's standing and important ad hoc committees. The responsibilities charged to each committee are described as well.

Responsibilities are to advise the dean on:

  • Developing a budget for the college
  • Establishing an agenda for college faculty meetings
  • Committee appointments and memberships
  • Developing, interpreting, and implementing policies of the college
  • Any other administrative matters brought before it

  • Review candidates for appointment, reappointment, promotion, and/or tenure and make a recommendation to the eligible faculty
  • Guide candidates for promotion and/or tenure in the preparation of their dossier
  • Interpret policies and procedures for candidates and faculty involved in decisions

Responsibilities:

  • Take steps to promote a culture of diversity within the CPH
  • Advise the dean on activities that will promote a culture of acceptance, such as Diversity Day, periodic surveys, workshops, and guest speakers focused on the topic of diversity
  • Monitor implementation of the college's diversity plan.

Responsibilities:

Recommend to the dean space assignments, changes and requests within the college. The committee is chaired by the dean and includes the senior associate dean for academic affairs, the associate dean for research, the assistant dean for finance and administration, and the facilities manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and make recommendations to the faculty on major program structure and policy decisions regarding academic matters
  • Reviewing application materials and recommend students for admission
  • Establish and coordinate policy in areas having college-wide impact, including courses shared by more than one degree program; approving new undergraduate and graduate courses or substantive changes in existing courses; developing sources of student support and establishing policies for its allocation; and establishing policies for graduate associate positions funded by CPH
  • Monitor student progress and recommend actions to the Graduate School as necessary
  • Review student petitions and act or make recommendations
  • Promote growth and excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, and visibility of the CPH nationally and internationally
  • Coordinate student recruitment efforts
