Areas of Study:
Targeted Investments in Excellence:
Community Engagement:
- In 2008, the College collaborated with Columbus Public Health and Ohio Department of Health on a year-long series of Public Health Grand Rounds. The series included a panel discussion of the PBS production "In Sickness and In Wealth: Is Inequality Making Us Sick," a presentation by former US Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders, and a lecture by former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. The series was supported by a grant from Pfizer.
- Another wonderful collaboration with Columbus Public Health was the department's 2008 Farmer's Market. The market, held over a three-week period downtown, served more than 10,000 visitors from neighborhoods with limited access to fresh produce. This initiative was supported by a grant from Women & Philanthropy at The Ohio State University Foundation.
