Students specializing in veterinary public health have the same requirement for 20 hours of core public health coursework as other MPH students. However, VPH students can choose to take Economic Analysis of Health Services OR Operations Management for Health Services Organizations rather than Health Care Organization I.

Typical Practicum
As a Veterinary Public Health student, you might conduct applied basic field research to study the epidemiology of zoonotic diseases such as Salmonellosis, E. coli, Rotavirus, West Nile, among others, as well as to study the evolution and spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria; with the objective to understand such problems and recommend intervention strategies to prevent and control them in the animal and human populations.
