Background

Jeff Caswell retired in 2008 after 38 years on the faculty of The Ohio State University, and continues to serve as associate professor emeritus. Professor Caswell specializes in health economics, especially the structure and performance of firms and markets in health care. He has taught economic and quantitative analysis methods applied to health services management and policy as well as applied ethics in health care management and public health. He has also been responsible for components of the curriculum for medical students on health care organization and finance. Professor Caswell's research and publications are in a variety of areas, including Medicaid managed care implementation, nursing home costs, hospital capacity utilization, smokeless tobacco regulation, and graduate medical education.
