Michael S. Bisesi is an environmental and occupational health scientist. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and recognized as a Fellow by the AIHA. He has authored/co-authored several scientific articles and chapters, including chapters in the Occupational Environment: Its Evaluation and Control and chapters in 4th and 5th editions of Patty's Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology. In addition, he is author of the textbook Industrial Hygiene Evaluation Methods (2nd ed) and second author of two other volumes of the Handbook of Environmental Health (4th ed) entitled Biological, Chemical and Physical Agents of Environmentally Related Disease and Pollutant Interactions in Air, Water and Soil, respectively. He has served on several local, state and national committees and workgroups and is the past Chair of the ABET Applied Science Accreditation Commission.
Major areas of interest and expertise include assessment of human exposure to and control of chemical and biological agents; environmental-related human exposure, disease and prevention; mechanistic toxicology/pathophysiology; applied environmental chemistry/microbiology; and emergency preparation, recognition and response.
