Biostatistics

Message from the Chair

thomas santnerThis is an exciting time in Biostatistics. We have started admitting students to the new PhD program in Biostatistics that is being administered jointly by the Division of Biostatistics and the Department of Statistics. This program brings together the biostatistics faculty from both units to provide students with more program options, enhanced curriculum, and wider research opportunities.

We have added courses in longitudinal data analysis, the analysis with missing data, and survey sampling methods. We are currently recruiting a new Division of Biostatistics Chair and additional faculty.

Our biostatistics faculty is involved in studies involving fatigue, depression and pain in cancer survivors; psychological antecedents and correlates of obesity; organ transplantation; childhood injuries; breast cancer; and methods for evaluation of multi-level interventions. They develop methodology that can be used to analyze the data from such studies and beyond.

We invite you to join us in this program.

Thomas Santner,

Interim Chair
Division of Biostatistics
