The committee is composed of leaders in the public and private sector who advise the division on the needs of potential employers, opportunities for applied research, and environmental health issues in our communities.
The committee is a venue for dialogue, cooperation, and coalition-building across diverse interests and perspectives. We focus on improving public health with an emphasis on science and attention to broad rather than specific issues. Initial efforts will be:
- Establishing an Environmental Health Advisory Committee for the State of Ohio,
- Developing an Environmental Health Atlas for Ohio,
- Preparing a report on “The State of Environmental Health in Ohio.”
Our methods will include:
- Evidence-based research,
- Professional practice,
- Education and training of the workforce, and
- Outreach.
