Epidemiology doctoral student Cara Rice won an Ohio State Presidential Fellowship for 2012-13 academic year. The Presidential Fellowship is the most prestigious award given by the Graduate School and is awarded twice a year. She also earned an Alumni Grants for Graduate Research and Scholarship (AGGRS), which provides up to $2,000 for dissertation research support.
Epidemiology doctoral student Rory Weier was invited to join The Ohio State University chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest, most selective, and most prestigious all-discipline honor society. Membership is by invitation only to Ohio State's top 7.5 percent of second-term juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students.
Doctoral student Mbabazi Kariisa has a paper accepted for the American Public Health Association annual meeting in San Francisco in November. Her paper is entitled "Measuring the effects of air pollution in patients with severe emphysema."
