The College of Public Health's Diversity Enhancement Committee is hosting a "Pizza with a Purpose" event on Wednesday (4/15) from 12:30-1:30 in Room M100. Please note the room change.
The topic is "Cleanliness = ½ of Faith: Islamic Perspectives on Public Health."
MPH alumnus and current PhD student Yosef Khan will be presenting. Khan is a clinical research manager in the College of Medicine's Department of Infectious Diseases.
Islam is the second largest religion in today's world, followed by a quarter of the world’s population, and the fastest growing religion in North America. This lecture will describe the basic tenets of the religion and take a look at the emphasis on and aspects of public health, which are deeply rooted in the teachings, traditions and rituals of the Islamic faith.
Please RSVP to rsvp@cph.osu.edu. Contact Dawn Williams with questions at 366-0953.
