The Center for Public Health Practice, within The Ohio State University College of Public Health, is offering a free, online course to nurses on how to prepare, respond and recover from public health disasters, such as infectious disease outbreaks and floods.
The 10-hour course is taught by Barbara J. Polivka, associate professor and specialty program director of Nursing and Health Systems Management at The Ohio State University College of Nursing to help nurses answer the question: "What do I do in a disaster situation?"
The course informs nurses of their roles in such situations, and teaches them how to delegate responsibilities to other personnel.
For more information and to register for the Public Health Nursing Surge course, visit https://www.train.org/DesktopShell.aspx and enter course ID No. 1016452.
