The college's first holder of the Loebs Professorship, Thomas Wickizer, PhD, MPH, is already making an impact at Ohio State in just his first month on campus.
Wickizer, professor in the college's Division of Health Services Management and Policy, was the keynote speaker for the Comparative Effectiveness Research Symposium on Sept. 29 at the Blackwell Inn hosted by The Ohio Colleges of Medicine, Government Resource Center. He spoke on "The Value of Using Administrative Data in Conducting Comparative Effectiveness Research.”
"Dr. Wickizer has developed a national reputation for using health plan administrative data to evaluate the performance of health care delivery systems in Washington State. This included various topics, including substance abuse, worker's compensation, and Medicaid managed care. We are very excited about having him at Ohio State,” said Lorin Ranbom, director, Government Resource Center.
Wickizer came to Ohio State from the University of Washington, where he was a professor in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine's Department of Health Services. His expertise includes utilization management, managed care and occupational health.
