Campus Campaign update

The College of Public Health kicked off its 2009 Campus Campaign drive earlier this month and is already at 40-percent participation rate among faculty and staff. Thank you to all who have contributed so far. The annual, campus-wide fundraising event allows faculty and staff to make monetary contributions to select funds that benefit the university. All CPH members who give to the cause are eligible for prize drawings. Human Resources Manager Susie Householder won Friday’s drawing and received a $10 gift card to Panera. The two remaining drawings will be held on March 27 and April 23. In order to qualify, donations must be made by the Monday before the drawing is held. To make your gift, click here >

If you haven’t received a giving card in your mailbox, please contact Lexi Noice, CPH alumni relations fundraising coordinator, at anoice@cph.osu.edu.

Lexi Noice hands a gift card to Susie Householder, who won it in a drawing after donating to Campus Campaign.

SMOKING IT OUT - Malaika Stubbs-Wilson, graduate research association in the College of Public Health, examined smokeless-tobacco products for sale on the street in Mumbai, India, two weeks ago. She and Amy Ferketich, associate professor in the Division of Epidemiology, traveled to India to attend the 14th World Conference on Tobacco or Health. “India is known in the tobacco control world for its love of smokeless tobacco,” Ferketich said. “There are lots of options for users and products are sold for next to nothing on the street.” (Photo submitted by Amy Ferketich.)
