No Woman, No Cry
A documentary film by Christy Turlington Burns
For hundreds of thousands of women each year, pregnancy is a death sentence. But most of those deaths are preventable, according to the World Health Organization.
The College of Public Health and the Wexner Center for the Arts are proud to present a screening of "No Woman, No Cry," a documentary about the risks of giving birth without adequate care, on April 13. The film is directed by model and maternal health advocate Christy Turlington Burns.
Turlington Burns shares the powerful stories of at-risk pregnant women in four parts of the world, including a remote Maasai tribe in Tanzania, a slum of Bangladesh, a post-abortion care ward in Guatemala, and a prenatal clinic in the United States.
The film will be shown April 13 at 7 p.m. in the Mershon Auditorium, 1871 N. High St., on The Ohio State University campus. The college is offering this event at no charge to the public.
