Directory of Training Programs
Training Programs
At the foundation of our products and services are our training programs. This directory contains training programs available from the three major divisions in our Office:
- Ohio Center for Public Health Preparedness (OCPHP) - Funded by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this project is devoted to strengthening public health workers' ability to respond to natural or manmade disasters.
- Pennsylvania & Ohio Public Health Training Center (POPHTC) - This project is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and is charged to improve the public health system by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial and leadership competencies and capabilities of the current and future public health workforce.
- Buckeye Bluegrass Regional Leadership Academy (BBRLA) - This CDC-funded project offers professional development for Ohio and Kentucky's current and future public health leaders.
All programs are aligned with the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals, a project of the Council on Linkages Between Academic and Public Health Practice, and/or the Bioterrorism & Emergency Readiness Competencies for All Public Health Workers by Columbia University.
Training Schedules and Cost
Some of our training programs are offered periodically as part of our regular event schedule. Others may also be brought to you in your district, region or agency, or may be offered as part of the agenda of an existing conference or event sponsored by an association, institution, health department or community group. A number of our training programs may be offered at no cost. Where there is a cost involved, fees vary depending on content, location of training, instructor, or other special circumstances.
The Center also sponsors one-time conferences that address varying topics. To join our distribution list and receive periodic announcements about our events, send a message to: practice@cph.osu.edu.
