Training

The Ohio State PRC provides training  and tools for community residents and organizations related to participating in disease prevention research and implementing evidence-based interventions.
We also seek to enhance the training and tools related to community-based activities available to prevention researchers and graduate students at Ohio State University by doing the following:

  • Plan for a graduate-level course focused on community-based participatory research
  • Develop course syllabus and present to college divisions and Office of Academic Programs for approval
  • Increase the opportunities for graduate students (and others) at OSU to receive  training (courses, seminars, and mentored field experiences) in community-based participatory  research (CBPR) principles
  • Offer and promote mentored field experiences for graduate students related to CBPR
  • Promote the use of the Policy, Systems, and Environmental Change online training modules
