Research Training and Education Core

The overall goal of the Research Training and Education Core is to prepare researchers in the field of tobacco regulatory science by offering training that emphasizes multidisciplinary approaches to address the needs of the FDA in its regulation of tobacco.  This core developed a robust multidisciplinary curricula to serve appointees at all educational levels (including undergraduates, pre-doctoral graduate students, post-doctoral trainees and junior faculty) and encourages scientists from diverse disciplines to focus on tobacco research.  This Core oversees a post-doctoral training program and an undergraduate summer internship program.   

The Research Training and Education Core also collaborates with other Tobacco Centers of Regulatory Science on curriculum development and training opportunities.
