Trauma is pervasive and manifests at both the individual and community levels. In communities that experience higher levels of crime and violence, there are also higher levels of trauma.

This session will address the impact of community violence and trauma in our local neighborhoods, what efforts are currently in place, and most importantly, what we all can do. We will have three panelists representing the CARE (Community. Action. Resilience. Empowerment) Coalition from Columbus Public Health, the Ohio State University, and Mount Carmel's Crime & Trauma Assistance Program.

Panelists include:

Malik Moore | CARE Coalition

Dr. Deanna Wilkinson, Associate Professor | Ohio State University Department of Human Sciences

Krystal Martin MSSA, LISW-S | Mount Carmen Health System Crime & Trauma Assistance Program

This event is part of the College of Public Health’s National Public Health Week.
