The College of Public Health is a co-sponsor of the Columbus Public Health Farmers’ Market. This three-day event typically serves more than 7,000 residents, providing fresh produce directly from Ohio farms. More than 20 regional farmers will offer locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables to neighborhood residents and participants of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program and the Ohio Direction Card (food stamps) through three farmers' markets on the Near East Side. The markets support CPH’s mission of protecting health and improving lives because many chronic health conditions -- including diabetes, overweight and obesity -- are related to poor nutrition.

Volunteer duties include: Line control, water distribution, assisting customer with produce to their vehicles, counting customers, setting up/tearing down, clean up.
