Ariel earned her M.A. in international affairs from American University and her B.A. in history and political science from Bowling Green State University. Prior to joining OPEN, she was a Program Officer in the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences at Dartmouth College. She also served as a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State. Volk coordinates the communications and network-development aspects of OPEN’s research and operations.
