Guy Smalley is an academic advisor and staff assistant for the Office of Academic Programs and Student Services (OAPSS) in the College of Public Health. Guy is working with undergraduate students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) major. He serves as an academic advisor for students who have been accepted into the major or pre-major and can meet with prospective students who may have an interest in declaring either the BSPH major or pre-major.
Prior to joining the College of Public Health, Guy served as an academic advisor for the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) for students majoring in either Human Nutrition or Nutrition. Guy also served as a health professions academic advisor for Exploration at the Ohio State University.
Before working in an advising role at Ohio State, Guy directed the Tobacco Free Collaborative with the Columbus Medical Association Foundation where he coordinated efforts by numerous Franklin County health-related organizations to increase smoke-free public places.
Prior to moving to Ohio, Guy directed a community-based Diabetes Program with the White Mountain Apache Tribe in Northern Arizona where he established a diabetes/fitness center and produced an award-winning video on diabetes and exercise.
Guy earned his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ.
