Kelly leads projects with a special focus on community health assessments, community health improvement plans, and strategic plans. She coordinates CPHP's Public Health Training Center (PHTC) grant activities, which aims to enhance public health workforce development in vulnerable populations, and is an instructor for CPHP's and OSU Extension's SAMHSA Mental Health Awareness Training grant, which provides Youth Mental Health First Aid to schools and communities throughout Ohio. Kelly also works on the center's public health accreditation support efforts.
Before joining CPHP in 2016, Kelly worked in local public health in both Ohio and North Carolina, where she coordinated community health assessments and community health improvement plans and managed health education grants focusing on policy, systems and environmental changes. She also has experience with corporate worksite wellness programs, including health risk assessments and health coaching. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and health with a concentration in community health education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, a master’s degree in public health leadership with a focus on public health practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a certified health education specialist.
