Staska serves as the Director of Research Administrative Services for the College of Public Health. She directs the daily operations of the grants management team which provides both pre and post award support, including proposal planning and development, budgeting, fiscal oversight, personnel appointments, and research compliance. She also serves as the College Privacy Officer. In this role, she works closely with the Technology and Commercialization Office and the Office of the Chief Information Officer to ensure that appropriate Data Use Agreements are in place and that data is securely and appropriately handled in the College.
Staska holds a JD from Capital University. For over a decade she worked as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Columbus addressing the legal needs of vulnerable, low-income populations, including victims of domestic violence, children, immigrants, and senior citizens. She also served as General Counsel for the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Industrial Compliance. Prior to joining the College of Public Health, Staska was a Senior Sponsored Program Officer for the University Office of Research and a Program Manager and Lecturer in Consumer Sciences for the College of Education and Human Ecology. She is a Certified Research Administrator.
