Professional Overview
Valerie joined the College of Public Health from Ohio State's Agricultural and Technical Institute (ATI) in Wooster, where she worked as an instructional development specialist. At ATI, she worked with faculty and staff to develop and deliver hybrid and online courses, explore and utilize educational tools and software, and collaborate with other departments delivering online content. She has over 14 years of teaching experience in online, blended and face-to-face instruction from ATI, Columbus State Community College and Central Ohio Technical College. She taught courses in freshman orientation, chemistry, biology, environmental science, nutrition, statistics, human anatomy and physiology. Before entering into her academic career, she worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as an environmental specialist. She lives in Centerburg with her husband and five dogs. She is a self-proclaimed nerd and loves to learn, so one of her favorite hobbies is to take classes.
