Description of Specific Research Project: 

Overview: The OSU College of Nursing (CON) Stress Science Lab conducts cutting-edge research to advance science on how stress affects health. The Stress Science Lab is one of the few free-standing labs at a College of Nursing in the world, and is one of the leaders in longitudinal stress biomarker analysis. Position Title: Student Laboratory Associate, Stress Science Lab, College of Nursing Wages: part-time, $10/hour, ~15 hours/week (flexible hours) during Autumn semester 2017 only (~150 hours total) Position Description: The Student Laboratory Associate will work together and under the supervision of a PhD candidate and the director of the Stress Science Lab to prepare hair samples for hormone extraction, which entails aligning individual strands of hair for precise sample measurement. The hours of the position will be arranged upon hire, pending schedule concordance of Student Laboratory Associate and PhD candidate. The hours are flexible, including evenings and weekends.

Desired Experience: 

Requirements: Currently enrolled OSU student (undergraduate or graduate), laboratory experience (either completion of a biology or chemistry class or laboratory work experience), detail-oriented, schedule concordance with PhD student during Fall semester 2017, and ability to complete 150 hours by the start of Spring semester 2018.  CONTACT: Randi Bates at bates.204@osu.edu with resume and cover letter.
