The MPH curriculum has a required practicum that will give first-hand experience in a field setting within a public health environment.
The practicum allows students to gain practical public health skills and apply theoretical concepts learned in the classroom and relate them to real world issues, while working alongside public health professionals that solve real world public health problems every day.
We encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to explore career choices in public health by using this opportunity to test drive a career choice in public health that is of interest to them.
The Practicum Handbook has been prepared to assist students in finding, conducting and completing a meaningful practicum experience that meet the academic standards of the College of Public Health as well as CEPH (Council on Education for Public Health) the accrediting body for Schools and Programs of Public Health.
The Career Services website contains additional information about the practicum.
