The college celebrated a night of learning, connection and exploring the critical importance of policy in public health alongside author Daniel Dawes. More than 300 people from throughout the university and Columbus community joined us for our “Changing the Conversation” lecture event in October.

Master of Health Administration students enjoyed the opportunity to network and learn from alumni at the 2024 Health Services Management Institute. The event, sponsored and organized by the HSMP Alumni Society, featured experts in health care technology and health care administration.

Thirty-one CPH students graduated at the end of autumn semester, culminating in a commencement celebration at the Schottenstein Center. Our public health grads included 19 graduate and 12 undergraduate students.

Local government and academic experts led a meaningful conversation about gun violence as a public health issue in February, discussing the challenges and policy approaches to preventing deaths from firearms. Moderator Laura Prater, an assistant professor in the College of Public Health, said she is confident “public health will prevail in this fight” despite resistance to gun law reform.

Ohio State’s Executive Vice President and Provost Ravi V. Bellamkonda toured Cunz Hall in April. Jiyoung Lee, professor and chair of the Division of Environmental Health Sciences, showed him around the laboratory space on the fourth floor.
