Faculty and research interests

Rebecca Andridge
Associate Professor, Public Health Division of Biostatistics
University of Michigan, 2009
Research Interests: Developing and evaluating statistical methods for handling missing data, for assessing nonignorable selection bias, and for group-randomized trials.

Sally Paganin
Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics
PhD, University of Padova, 2019
Research Interests: My research is at the intersection of applied, computational, and methodological statistics, motivated by the analysis of complex data. I have been mostly working on Bayesian modeling and methods, with a focus on Bayesian nonparametrics, models for latent variables, and model assessment.

Sebastian Kurtek
Professor, Department of Statistics
PhD, Florida State University, 2012
Research Interests: Statistical image analysis, statistical shape analysis, medical imaging, functional data analysis, computational statistics

Shili Lin
Professor, Department of Statistics
PhD, University of Washington, 1993
Research Interests: Statistical Genomics and Bioinformatics; High-Dimensional Data Analysis; Model Uncertainty and Selection; Bayesian Statistics; Monte Carlo and MCMC Methods

Subhadeep Paul
Associate Professor, Department of Statistics
PhD, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, 2017
Research Interests: My research focuses on statistical inference in complex networks, including their multi-layer and dynamic variants. I aim to develop computationally feasible model based as well as spectral and matrix factorization based methods to analyze networks. I am also interested in the analysis of neuroimaging data obtained from both functional MRI and in-vivo Calcium imaging and much of my current research is motivated by such applications.

Xiaoxuan Cai
Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics
PhD, Yale University, 2020
Research Interests: Causal Inference; Missing Data; Mediation Analysis; Observational Studies; Survival Analysis; Time Series

Yuzi Zhang
Assistant Professor, Public Health Division of Biostatistics
PhD, Emory University, 2023
Research Interests: Statistical methodology, environmental epidemiology, capture-recapture methods for disease surveillance, Bayesian methods, spatial-temporal modeling. Applications: infectious disease, Alzheimer’s disease, pre-term birth
