CPH’s Balaji Ramesh and Lingpeng (Andrew) Shan recognized with Graduate School award

Two College of Public Health PhD students received the 2024-25 Presidential Fellowship, the Graduate School’s most prestigious award recognizing students with outstanding scholarly accomplishment and potential. The award honors students entering the final phase of their dissertation research or terminal degree project.
Balaji Ramesh is specializing in environmental epidemiology. His dissertation findings aim to advance exposure assessment methods, improving our understanding about the magnitude of adverse health outcomes caused by environmental exposures, he said.
Biostatistics PhD student Lingpeng (Andrew) Shan’s research aims to advance understanding of cancer survivorship by developing innovative statistical methods to analyze large-scale longitudinal women’s health studies. His findings will contribute to the development of effective health care interventions, he said.
