Undergraduate admissions

Use the Common App for admission to the Columbus campus. Choose public health as your intended major. Students are selected based on their academic record, leadership, work and volunteer experiences, and potential for success. Students admitted to the university will be directly admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Public Health major.

Students transferring from another university must first be admitted to The Ohio State University through Undergraduate Admissions. Once accepted, you can meet with an advisor to declare the specialization you are interested in pursuing by either calling 614-292-8350 to set up an appointment, or email cph@osu.edu.

Transfer student application info

Any Ohio State student can request to change into the public health major at any time. Please either email cph@osu.edu or call 614-292-8350 to arrange an appointment with one of our advisors to discuss the major changing process.

Students with a 2.5 GPA, 12 graded hours and a C or higher in PUBHLTH 2010 can change into the public health major. Students who are in good standing with the university but have not met these requirements will be changed to the public health pre-major.

First, you need to apply and be accepted to The Ohio State University through Undergraduate Admissions. Once accepted, you can meet with an advisor to declare the specialization you are interested in pursuing by either calling 614-292-8350 to set up an appointment, or email cph@osu.edu

You can still change into our pre-major and once you have met the requirements above, an advisor will change you to a declared major.
