Bachelor of Science in Public Health
With two specializations to choose from — environmental public health and public health sociology — Ohio State's College of Public Health is an excellent start to a career improving health in local communities and around the world. This nationally accredited program broadens your perspectives and allows you to explore the possibilities in public health.
Application requirements
Use the Common App for admission to the Columbus campus. Choose public health as your intended major. Students are selected based on their academic record, leadership, work and volunteer experiences, and potential for success. Students admitted to the university will be directly admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Public Health major.
Students transferring from another university must first be admitted to Ohio State. Transfer students then can apply to the major if they have a minimum 2.5 GPA have earned at least 15 credits and have completed prerequisites by autumn semester.
Ohio State students not currently in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health major will need to apply to the major provided they maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and have earned at least 15 credits and completed prerequisites by autumn semester. Students currently at a regional campus should stay in contact with their advisor and can connect with the admissions staff in the College of Public Health if they have questions about the major.
