Focus Pocus: Casting the Spell for Successful Focus Groups
This event, part of a monthly seminar on qualitative and community-engaged research methods, will discuss the benefits of focus groups for data collection.
About
Focus groups offer the promise of efficient data collection, especially when group interactions and synergy may provide richer qualitative insights. This session will address key considerations such as when to use focus groups, planning for focus groups, and challenges associated with analysis of focus group data. Lessons learned from the speaker’s recent study using focus groups will provide examples of successes (and challenges) for this qualitative data collection approach.
