Emanuel Tewolde awarded Best Oral Presentation
American Cancer Society Presentation focused on epigenetic aging reversal
College of Public Health alum Emanuel Tewolde ‘25 BSPH won the Best Oral Presentation Award among postbaccalaureate fellows who presented at the American Cancer Society’s Center for Innovation in Cancer Research Training Annual Meeting in Atlanta.
Tewolde is an American Cancer Society Post-Baccalaureate Research Fellow, part of a two-year program designed to prepare students for graduate studies in cancer research.
Tewolde was one of six presenters selected from approximately 100 trainees. His presentation focused on how epigenetic aging could possibly be reversed among African Americans who stop smoking menthol cigarettes.
As a CPH student, Tewolde contributed to research led by Associate Professor Min-Ae Song examining the impact of the menthol cigarette ban among African Americans in Ohio.
