Robin Puett

Dr. Robin Puett is associate dean for research at The Ohio State University College of Public Health and professor in the Division of Epidemiology. She joined the Ohio State faculty after serving as professor and associate dean for research and faculty affairs at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. Since the 1990s, she has worked across industry, federal government and academic settings, developing a broad, inclusive perspective on public health research and practice.

Throughout her career, Dr. Puett has collaborated in multidisciplinary teams to address complex public health challenges using a wide range of methodological approaches. Examples of this work include: epidemiologic modeling of cardiovascular outcomes using data from large cohort studies, air pollution exposure assessment using satellite-derived data, and thematic analyses of interviews exploring stress resilience among community members managing chronic illness.

Her research and teaching have focused primarily on chronic disease, environmental epidemiology and spatial epidemiology, with particular emphasis on understanding the health effects of air pollution. More recently, she has expanded her work to examine strategies for enhancing resilience to socio-environmental stressors. In addition, Dr. Puett is exploring the application of design thinking and artificial intelligence to advance higher education administration, research innovation and student learning.
