College of Public Health student Emanuel Tewolde received a second place award at the 30th annual Denman Undergraduate Research Forum, a competitive showcase that brings together Ohio State’s graduating student researchers across disciplines.

Tewolde, a BSPH student specializing in environmental public health, was recognized in the forum’s public health category for his poster “Addressing awareness gaps and responses of central Ohio African American smokers to a proposed menthol cigarette ban.”

More than 250 students presented their research in 10 categories on March 4. Presentations were reviewed by faculty, staff and Denman alumni.
