About

David Sherman is an Ohio State Veterinary alumnus, former program coordinator in World Organization for Animal Health's Capacity Building Department and book author.

As the world becomes more interconnected, the role of animals and animal health is increasingly recognized, not only by veterinarians but by all professionals working to enhance public health outcomes, ensure food security and promote development.

In this context, this seminar will offer a broad look at the powerful forces transforming animal health, from climate change to shifting cultural attitudes and technological advances, and its critical role in global health and development. Drawing on decades of global experience in more than 40 countries and leadership roles within the World Organization for Animal Health, Sherman will highlight how animal health impacts food systems, livelihoods, and human health and well-being, setting the stage for deeper discussions and professional development opportunities.
