Amy Ferketich receives John T. and Ruth Weimer Mount Award
CPH associate dean celebrated for dedication to students
College of Public Health Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs Amy Ferketich was recognized for her exceptional dedication to students.
She received the John T. and Ruth Weimer Mount Award from Ohio State’s Sphinx Senior Class Honorary and Mortar Board Senior Honor Society. The award is presented annually to a faculty or staff member who exhibits outstanding commitment to leadership, scholarship, service and student mentorship.
Ferketich was nominated for the award by her undergraduate advisee Emma Guess, a biomedical sciences major and research assistant in Ferketich’s lab.
“What defines Dr. Ferketich most deeply is how she shows up for her students,” Guess said in prepared remarks highlighting how Ferketich supports and guides students through uncertainty.
Ferketich’s care and attention to students is consistent and has shaped countless students’ experiences. She embodies Ohio State’s highest ideals of scholarship, service and dedication, Guess said.
Ferketich was named CPH associate dean in 2024 and has been a faculty member at Ohio State since 2003. During her tenure at the university, she has been honored with the Distinguished Undergraduate Research Mentor Award and the College of Public Health Excellence in Teaching Award.
