CAPAC Research Training Program 2026
Graduate students are encouraged to apply for the NCI-funded Cancer Prevention and Control (CAPAC) Research Training Program, hosted by the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center.
This program runs from May 26 to July 31, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA. For its sixth consecutive year, the program will offer a hands-on cancer prevention and control research experience.
A primary goal of CAPAC is to increase the number of master’s degree graduates and other health professionals that pursue a doctoral degree and/or a career as cancer researchers. Each year, CAPAC recruits 25 graduate/health professional students and recent graduates from all academic backgrounds to participate in a 10-week hands-on full-time research experience in Puerto Rico under the supervision of an assigned research mentor. Upon application and evaluation, the program will support a maximum of 6 trainees to extend their research experience for up to 15 weeks. The program also provides educational and professional seminars and workshops for trainees.
Early application and submission of materials is highly recommended. The deadline to apply is Jan. 23, 2026 by 10:59 p.m. EST / 11:59 p.m. AST.
