Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program Competition for 2027–2028 Now Open

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition for the 2027-2028 academic year is now open. With more than 380 awards in over 130 countries, Fulbright provides exceptional opportunities for faculty to advance their research, expand international collaborations, and strengthen the global profile of their academic units. Most award applications are due Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and U.S. citizenship is required. Grant lengths vary from two to twelve months, and some awards offer Flex Options designed to accommodate academic-year teaching obligations.

Advising and Support

The Office of International Affairs provides comprehensive advising for faulty and graduate student Fulbright applicants, including:

  • Identifying suitable awards
  • Refining and shaping project ideas
  • Reviewing and strengthening application materials

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

The Fulbright U.S. Student competition for the 2027–2028 academic year will open on March 31, 2026. Graduate students applying for the FY2026–2027 cycle should complete the Fulbright Interest Registration Form.
