Henry Xiang, Ohio State University professor of medicine (pediatrics) and epidemiology, has been elected an inaugural Fellow of the American Medical Extended Reality Association.

Xiang is one of 19 scholars selected for the inaugural class, which recognizes substantial and sustained contributions to the field of medical extended reality. He was recognized alongside other fellows in March.

Xiang’s research integrates epidemiologic methods, data science and artificial intelligence to advance injury prevention, trauma care and pain management, with a growing focus on the use of extended reality technologies in medical and public health applications.

Xiang holds a courtesy faculty appointment at the College of Public Health.
