Now Hiring: OPEN Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) for 2026-27
The Ohio Policy Evaluation Network (OPEN) seeks a GRA at Ohio State for its research projects. We conduct rigorous, impactful, and forward-thinking social science research about the reproductive health of Ohioans.
The GRA will work primarily with OSU faculty who are leading individual research projects. Successful candidates will embrace all the joys and complications of collaborating on interdisciplinary, policy-relevant research. They will also be comfortable interacting with people from different backgrounds and be able to engage professionally with others who hold opinions or undertake actions with which they personally disagree.
The GRA will devote 20 hours/week to OPEN throughout the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, with optional extension into the Summer 2027 term by mutual agreement. The GRA will be expected to assist their OPEN project leader(s) in multiple capacities. Tasks may include:
- Reviewing literature
- Developing and piloting project materials such as surveys
- Preparing regulatory paperwork, including grant reporting or materials for ethical review
- Drafting or updating standard operating procedures for project activities
- Gathering, processing and analyzing quantitative data from surveys, medical charts, and public datasets
- Writing research reports, abstracts, and papers to be submitted for peer-review
- Organizing and participating in research team meetings and conference calls
- Developing conference presentations or webinars
- Participating in scheduled OPEN team calls and quarterly OPEN team meetings in Columbus or Cincinnati
