Washington D.C. Academic Internship Program (WAIP)
WAIP is an experiential program open to Ohio State juniors and seniors of any major.
WAIP students spend a semester studying and interning in our nation’s Capital. Students will earn academic credit for their internship and attend professional development workshops, study tours, a research seminar and a course on policymaking and public service. Students are required to take either Public Affairs 2110: Intro to Public Affairs or Poli Sci 3115: Intro to the Policy Process prior to the WAIP semester. Students are encouraged to meet with WAIP program staff before submitting their application.
The deadline to apply for the Spring 2026 semester is Sept. 21.
The deadline to apply for the Summer 2026 semester is Dec. 28.
