Winter break mental health support

Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) offers several ways to get support over winter break.

Resources during break include:

  • Let’s Talk: A brief virtual consultation with a counselor perfect for discussing specific concerns like setting boundaries with family, navigating hometown drama, or managing anxiety about spring semester. You can choose your counselor and connect from anywhere in the world.
  • Phone Screenings: Interested in ongoing mental health services such as individual or group therapy or psychiatry? A phone screening is a great first step even if you’re unsure what you need. CCS can connect you with on campus, local, or home based providers.
  • UWill Virtual Therapy: Free for all enrolled students! UWill offers flexible scheduling and access to counselors with specific identities and expertise even if you’re outside Ohio. Ideal for more than just a one time consultation.
  • After Hours Support: For urgent concerns that don’t require 911, CCS offers an after hours line on evenings, weekends and holidays. Call 614 292-5766 and select option 2. (If there is an immediate safety concern, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.)
  • Embedded CCS Clinician - Ven Palmieri: Ven is on-site at Cunz Hall on Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m. and additionally available by appointment for Telehealth or in-person sessions at our Lincoln Tower location including early-evening Telehealth appointments. Students can connect with Ven by first scheduling a phone screening

You’re not alone support is here for you this winter. Reach out, take care of yourself and remember: asking for help is a sign of strength!
