Research Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Informatics
Lianbo Yu, PhD, is currently a research assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University. Dr. Yu is also the high-dimensional group leader in the Center for Biostatistics, where he collaborates with investigators from the College of Medicine and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. He also serves as the biostatistics core director for multiple NCI program project grant awards and applications. Dr. Yu's research focus is to answer genomic-based biological questions by utilizing high-throughput genomic data. He is currently interested in (1) variance smoothing for testing differential expression in NGS data, (2) sample size calculation for NGS data, (3) data integration of multiple genotypes and multiple platforms, and, (4) prediction models with biomarkers.
Dr. Yu earned both his master of science and doctoral degrees in Statistics at Purdue University, where his research focused on developing advanced statistical methods for high-throughput proteomic data. He joined the Center for Biostatistics at OSU in 2006 and the Department of Biomedical Informatics in 2014.
