Soledad Fernández, PhD, Biomedical Informatics, College of Medicine
Dr. Fernández is a research associate professor and director of the Department of Biomedical Informatics' Center for Biostatistics. She collaborates extensively with researchers in Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center and Center for Clinical and Translational Science, serving as the biostatistics core director on multiple awards and grants. She has more than 100 publications, a large portion of which are with Ohio Statecancer investigators. She has previously collaborated with researchers who focus in statistical genetics, as well as in other areas such as emergency medicine, psychology, dentistry and pathology.
Dr. Fernández has been a part of the Center for Biostatistics since 2003 and part of the Ohio State community since 2001. Previous to joining the university community, Dr. Fernández received a Master in Statistics in 1998 and a joint Ph.D. in Statistics and Animal Breeding and Genetics in 2001 from Iowa State University.
