About

We are excited to expand our newly created 3-workshop series over Deaf culture to all professional students this spring. The curriculum will teach Deaf culture, medical issues faced by Deaf patients, how to introduce yourself to Deaf patients, and common terminology signs. This is aimed to help both pre-clinical and clinical healthcare students feel more confident in communicating with Deaf patients that you may come across.

These workshops will all have a different agenda and will build upon each other, so it is ideal to attend all three workshops to truly understand Deaf culture and learn a bit of sign language; however, you are still encouraged to attend even if you are unable to make all three workshops as each workshop will still provide valuable insight to communicating with Deaf patients.
