Public Health one of seven Ohio State programs recognized
The Ohio State University College of Public Health has been honored with the Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for the fourth consecutive year.
Colleges and universities receiving the national award demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion based on a comprehensive and rigorous review of diversity and inclusion initiatives for students, faculty and staff. The award is given by Insight Into Diversity magazine.
“The HEED Award is a tremendous honor, and one that recognizes the College of Public Health’s deep, abiding commitment to fostering an inclusive community where all students, faculty and staff experience a sense of belonging,” said Abigail Norris Turner, associate dean for faculty and inclusive excellence and a professor of epidemiology.
In addition to the College of Public Health, the 2024 HEED Award went to the College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Optometry, College of Pharmacy and College of Veterinary Medicine. Ohio State is the only academic institution in the country to have seven graduate programs recognized.
