Megan Roberts receives Faculty Mentor of the Year Award
Intentional guidance supports postdoc growth
Megan Roberts, associate professor in the Division of Health Behavior and Health Promotion, was honored with the 2025 Faculty Mentor of the Year Award, a recognition for her exceptional mentoring of postdoctoral scholars.
The announcement was made during a surprise division meeting visit from James Gentry, director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at the Graduate School. Roberts was nominated by her mentee, College of Public Health postdoc Ton Lin.
Roberts advances trainees’ careers through intentional guidance, active sponsorship and rigorous professional development, Gentry said, referencing Lin’s nomination materials. She creates an inclusive, supportive environment where trainees feel valued, supported and empowered to grow.
Roberts creates a respectful and collaborative environment that enables her mentees to do their best work while feeling valued and seen, Gentry said. Roberts will be celebrated at the Graduate School’s Awards Ceremony on April 22.
