Mentor opportunity for graduate students
LitLab is a student-led organization dedicated to making research more accessible and approachable for undergraduate students.
Through a structured, mentor-guided program, undergraduate members develop foundational research skills, explore topics that interest them, and gain experience with scientific literature, research communication, and scholarly presentation. LitLab connects students with graduate student and faculty mentors who provide guidance as mentees work toward developing and presenting their own research projects. Graduate students interested in mentorship have the opportunity to support aspiring researchers, share their expertise, and help students build confidence navigating the research process.
LitLab is seeking graduate student mentors who are passionate about research and interested in supporting undergraduate students as they develop skills in scientific literacy, critical thinking, and scholarly writing.
Responsibilities
- Meet periodically with a small undergraduate group throughout the academic year.
- Provide guidance on reading and evaluating scientific literature.
- Offer feedback on research questions, literature reviews, and final scholarly projects.
- Share insight into graduate education and research experiences.
- Estimated time commitment: Approximately 1–2 hours per month.
