Two Ohio State MPH-VPH alumni named to prestigious CDC Fellowship

Two Ohio State Veterinary Public Health - Master of Public Health alumni, Andrea Bessler '24 MPH-VPH and Pallavi Oruganti '18 MPH-VPH have been selected as Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The EIS is the CDC’s globally-recognized applied epidemiology training program. The program places promising professionals in a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the CDC’s headquarters in Atlanta. The EIS program receives approximately 400 to 500 applications per year, with an average acceptance of 50 to 60 people.

Bessler will be deployed at the Georgia Department of Public Health in Atlanta. Oruganti will be deployed at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment in Denver.
