The goal of the undergraduate public health research experience capstone is to provide Public Health students with opportunities to apply public health principles outside of a typical classroom setting and build on public health coursework. This course allows students the opportunity to integrate classroom experiences and principles in an applied research setting.

Prequisite(s): Jr. standing in BSPH, or Soph standing for students who intend to complete an Honors Research Thesis.

Undergraduate Capstone Preparation

The purpose of the class is to prepare undergraduate students in Public Health for their capstone experience. Students will learn the critical elements of public health practice and research, as well as professional development skills to prepare them for the workplace and equip them with the tools needed to apply for graduate school.

Prequisite(s): BSPH major students who are four terms or less away from graduation are eligible to enroll. BSPH honors students are eligible to enroll as early as spring semester of their second year.

Public health concepts examining the philosophy, purpose, history, organization, functions, and results of public health practices domestically and internationally.
