Undergraduate level courses are numbered 4000 and below, undergraduate/graduate level courses are numbered 5000, and all graduate level courses are numbered 6000 and higher.

Practicing Public Health Communication to Communities

This course will familiarize students with the process for developing public health messaging for communities, from formative research through evaluation. Course content will cover the application of health behavior theory to the development of public health strategies, review methods and design tools for effective messaging, and examine best practices for engaging with communities through every step of the development process. Many assignments will be applied activities to practice the skills of engaging with communities and designing effective public health messaging for a variety of audiences.

Prequisite(s): Undergraduate: Either PUBHHBP 3510 or COMM 4737. Writing and Information Literacy or GE equivalent for 3 credit hours
Graduate: Enrollment in the HBHP MPH/PhD program or permission of instructor
